“Integrative Psychiatry” is an approach to mental health care that merges allopathic (traditional Western) medicine with complementary medicine. This approach allows for a greater focus on the root causes of a person’s suffering, and uses mind, body and spirit as a means of empowering the individual in his or her own life and relieving their suffering. The solid and warm relationship we develop will be another key to you achieving the healthy outcome you want.

I provide consultation and treatment to patients with medical illnesses and psychiatric symptoms related to the illness. I help patients cope with their illness as well as negotiate the medical system by adding my understanding of the complex inter-relationships of mind, body, personality style, and life circumstances to dealing with illness. Many of my patients have Lyme Disease, neurological disorders, or auto-immune disorders.

My integrative approach comes from my training in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Hospital in New York City, and then fellowship training and research in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Psychosomatics (mind/body medicine) at Long Island Jewish Hospital. I have worked with coronary patients, stroke patients, burn patients, as well as many patients with Lyme disease and Lyme co-infections. In 2013 I received a second Board-Certification, this one in Holistic and Integrative Medicine.
